Providing Help to the Needy

Rescuing Children from the Streets and Placing them into Loving Homes

AIM’s strategy does not stop with winning the lost, providing theological training, and sending out missionaries. The final component of AIM's strategy is to help those in need. AIM’s strategy of helping the needy is based on principles such as Matthew 25:40 where Jesus tells the righteous, “Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.” The Apostle John states this obligation more pointedly, “But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against hem, how does the love of God abide in him? Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth” (1 John 3:17–18). AIM takes these biblical teachings literally and provides for both spiritual and physical needs.

In India, large poor and illiterate families often migrate to cities from villages due to the scarcity of food and employment. Since they cannot afford to rent a home in the city, they end up living in slums or on the streets. More than 100 million children in India beg on the streets, work in sweat shops or small stores, or are sold into prostitution. In addition, many terrorist and radical religious groups take advantage of these children and teach them to hate.

AIM is Giving Children Hope (GCH) by rescuing them from the streets and placing them in to Grace Children’s Homes and Grace Children's Centers where they receive food, shelter, clothing, and a Christian based education. As a result of this undertaking, an army of Christian children is being raised up who will continue to impact their nation for the cause of Christ. Once considered to be society’s castaways, these children now routinely excel in academics and win awards in their schools for excellence. They provide their communities and classmates with real examples of Christian values and teaching.

AIM Provides a Home and Hope

The majority of people in India and Asia live in slums, mud houses, or on the streets. Consequently, the ability to find affordable and suitable buildings which serve as children’s homes or churches is difficult and expensive. In most cases, the properties are owned by members of radical religious groups who actively persecute Christians. They usually refuse to rent their houses out for Christian worship or to house a pastor and his children’s home. The churches and homes that AIM builds provide a refuge for these suffering children and these persecuted saints.

Living Water Wells

Every year in India, 2 million people die from unsafe drinking water—90% of which are children. Each day 6,000 children die as a result of water-related illnesses. With each sip of water the number of deaths grows. This is mainly because millions of people wash themselves, their clothes, and drink from standing pools of water. AIM provides “Living Water Wells” in places where no wells exist. By providing clean water, a national church planter is given an opportunity share the ‘Living Water’ in his community and express the love of Christ.
