Persecution against Christians does not typically appear in the western press as neither the Indian news agencies nor the Indian government wants to publicize these atrocities. When news of persecution is made public, the scale of the persecution is typically downplayed. Fortunately, the national political climate has temporarily changed which will enable AIM to continue its work for the next few years. However, attitudes of political openness have little impact on the local level where most of the persecution occurs. Our national church planters (NCPs) have been beaten, imprisoned, and some have lost their lives. However, our NCPs remain committed to teaching the Word and preaching the gospel at any cost in villages where the name of Christ has not been heard.

The reality is that AIM’s NCPs, pastors, children, and church members suffer the effects of persecution every day. Very often these persecuted Christians require medical, legal, and other forms of financial support. Unfortunately, most do not have these funds or resources.
The physical injuries and destruction of property inflicted on our NCPs and pastors are common especially in northern India. An increasingly hostile environment is making it difficult for Christians to live their ordinary lives. Please pray that they may have the grace to suffer these difficulties and that God would direct a way out of their trials.
There are many Christian brothers and sisters who desperately need your help now. Please consider making a donation to the Persecuted Pastor’s fund. This fund helps to pay for medical treatment and for legal fees.
