Derek's father does not live with him and his mother. His father suffers from high vilirubin disease in his liver. Our GCH Caregivers say, Dereck feels the absence of his father very much as he has grown up. He often prays a lot for his father. Derek's mother works as a systems engineer. He also says that he prays a lot for his mother's job so that it goes well, because sometimes he has seen his mother become sick from working so hard. Every weekend Derek goes to his grandparents' house, which allows him to attend the Christian Church with them. Derek really likes sports, especially playing soccer, basketball, and volleyball. He is also learning the English language. When he grows up, he would like to be a professional soccer player.
